Another fine write-up, Dave. I'm surprised, though, that you neglected to mention the version of "Nowhere Man" that appears on the Yellow Submarine Songtrack CD. This represents the only intelligent mixing of this song into stereo, finally doing away with the dreadful split track stereo version we had to endure for so long.

    The stereo mix I know about has the voices on only one side. The lead guitar is included on the opposite side, but during the instrumental break, it jumps over to the otherwise-empty track where the voices were. Voice/instrument separation makes available a listening experience like the Beach Boys "stack-o-tracks" release. Is this different from the mix you refer to occurring in Yellow Submarine soundtrack?
